Montefiori Cocktail
The Italian project Montefiori Cocktail is made up of brothers Francesco and Federico Montefiori and their inspirational leader and father, Germano Montefiori. The Italian twins' mission is to recreate the warm, carefree atmosphere of the mid-1960s, a spirit very close to the heart of Montefiori Sr. However, the twins also contribute to the project's creative output, adding their own unique touch to the rhythms of a bygone generation.
Their first CD, Raccolta #1, was released in 1997 on the IRMA La Douce label. That same year, they participated in the Night Wave 97 and Martini Party festivals, and Germano Montefiori was invited as a special guest to the Montreux Jazz Festival.
The band played several times at Madame JoJo's in London, and in November 1997, they toured the United States, drawing large audiences at every lounge club they appeared in. Already famous by then, Montefiori Cocktail was seen in all major American cities — New York, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, San Francisco…
In February 1998, the band's first video, filmed for the song Crazy Beat, was released and aired on the world's major music channels — MTV (USA and Europe), Orbit, and TMC2. Numerous European tours followed: France (Tricatel Party), Germany (Bungalow Night), and Austria (Diagonale 1999). In June 1999, Montefiori Cocktail took part in the largest Italian easy listening music festival, alongside Pizzicato Five, Karminsky Experience, Count Indigo, and many others.
In March 2000, the band performed at a festival in Warsaw, attracting a crowd of 2,200 fans. Soon after, a second CD, Raccolta #2, was recorded, featuring Count Indigo, Scanna, and Pierfilippi and Luciano Savoretti — old friends of Montefiori Sr., who played with him back in the 1960s.
