Gazzara is the acid jazz project by Francesco Gazzara, a film and TV composer since the late 90’s. He has composed soundtracks for well known Italian movie directors such as Giuseppe Ferrara, Cristina Comencini, Francesca Muci, including music scores for RAI Cinema features and many other documentary TV productions. In 2014 he released a piano and orchestral double album titled Play Me My Song — dedicated to progressive rock legends Genesis and their '70s repertoire — especially recorded inside the prestigious Vatican Radio's "Assunta Hall". With his project The Piano Room he has also released a dystopian concept album titled 2084 inspired by George Orwell's 1984 and Boualem Sansal's 2084: The End Of The World novels.
In 2019 Gazzara has been involved on a major sound restyling for Vatican Radio broadcasting (FM and online), writing various jingles for podcasts and news titles. In January 2020 his second Gazzara Plays Genesis album Here It Comes Again was released by Irma Records receiving enthusiastic reviews and personal appreciation from great artists as ex-Genesis guitarists Steve Hackett and Anthony Phillips. In november 2020 a Gazzara live double CD was released (The Bossa Lounge Experience: A Live & Studio Experience, IRMA Records) celebrating 25 years of discography since the group's debut album One (1996).
